Passports System Scam

Here's a quick little bit of real news regarding passports. As a law-abiding citizen do you feel that it is necessary for the government to hold biometric information about you? By this I mean DNA, retina scan and fingerprints, should they be entitled to hold this information about you? Currently it is only people who are convicted criminals that the government holds information on which is right in my view because if you do a crime and go to prison and get released only to offend again, I think the police should be able to catch you by using your DNA or whatever. What I don't agree with is the police getting all this data on you from birth, effectively classing you as a criminal from day one. This is just not on.

I disagree with the passport / ID Card fiasco going on at the moment, what with good old boy Tony Bliar (did I spell it wrong??) saying we wont be having ID cards, only for the government to roll out biometrics on our passports instead - how is this democratic? Anyway what is cool is that Silicon.com has quite rightly pointed out here is that if you renew your passport now you can stay off the radar and travel all over the planet until 2016!

Great, so rather than surrendering our freedoms and just submit to being classed as criminals (even when you are innocent and have never commited a crime in your life) simply renew your passport now, TODAY if possible so that you wont need to submit biometric information or take part in an interview (read: interrogation) by the home office.

I got a new passport in January so I am good for the next ten years. My wife's passport runs out this year so we are renewing it now and also getting one for my Son to keep him out of the Police State database for the first 11 years of his life at least (he's one already).

Renew today or be classed as a criminal come October 2006 and don't tell me I didn't warn you.

Quake Aid

So no doubt the most horrendous thing to happen this weekend was the major earthquake over in Indonesia. It was a big one apparently 6.3 on the richter scale and due to the infrastructure of the country being a bit dated many, many homes were destroyed. Many lives have been lost, I think we are up to about 5000 people which is utterly devastating. Of course we need to get practical stuff out to these people asap, blankets, tents, food (loads of it), fresh water and medical goods, so it was good to see that the British government immediately pledged £3m in aid to the people there. It is always interesting to see what countries contribute what as you would think that the richest countries would send the most wouldn't you? Ok so the UK is pretty rich I suppose. We have a queen and everything so £3m seems quite good. Japan have decided to be the most generous and have stumped up £5.3m.
The in-betweens have all been good:

Belgium: £444,220
Holland: £640,702
Saudi Arabia: £2.6m
UAE & Kuwait: £2.1m
Australia: £1.1m
Canada: £959,243
China 1.1m

But the biggest suprise is that the United States, supposedly the only super-power on the planet and the biggest country economically have only managed to pledge a piffling £1.3m. What? How can this be? How can the USA be so mean, and not even come up with as much money as the UK? A country that when talking about military spending talks in TRILLIONS not Billions can only come up with this amount is utterly pathetic. So you can spend trillions on ever new improved ways to kill people but only £1.3m to help the poor people of Indonesia - are tanks and black hawk helicopters really worth more than humans in this day and age?

I am sure the American people will stump up a lot more than their government can, and I know for sure that some good folks from that side of the pond will all head over there to physically help the poor of Indonesia so it seems a shame that their current administration has dismissed the disaster as not worth the bother. What also suprised me was that the EU also pedged a piffling £2m in aid, thats including even more money from the UK and all the other big European states, Germany, France, Spain et al this also seems a very small amount from some very powerful and wealthy countries. Shame on the decision makers and penny pinchers who made this decision.

I've been humming and harrring about publishing this, but did anyone notice on Wednesday that the US government released a video that 'proves' that a plane hit the Pentagon on 9/11.

Yes its true, they have taken nearly 5 years to release this video, when it should have been released the day after the terrorist attacks if they wanted their phoney story to stand up to public scrutiny. Conspiracy Theory!! I can hear you all scream, but check it out...

Then click on the video link. Now carefully watch the video being sure to look at the middle right area above that orange box and you will quite clearly see.... a MISSILE! NOT a plane! Look closely. Rewind and repeat.

Do the US government really expect the people to believe that that was a Boeing 757? come on, there is NO WAY that is a plane, you can quite clearly see that it is the smoke trails of a missile. If it was a Boeing 757 then surely you would see wings, a tail-fin, two 6-Tonne engines made of titanium and steel and, well, a plane - you would see a lot more than what you can see on the video and they are passing off these preposterous remarks about a plane when the evidence CLEARLY shows that it was not a plane.

If the government of the USA have nothing to hide, then this video should have come out a lot sooner than it has, furthermore if they have lied about what happened at the Pentagon, what else have they lied about?

- The mysterious collapse of WTC 7
- The amazing melting steel of the WTC that would is scientifically impossible to melt by a kerosene based fire.

What did these kids do to deserve a life of hell?

I was reading in the Newspaper today (I really don't know why I do it to myself) it was "The Sun" and I read a small article about Iraq. Basically the story says that they are going to install a daytime curfew over there to help stop "sectarian violence". What this means is that the Iraqi people wont be allowed to leave their homes in the day anymore and it also includes Fridays which is the Holy-day, so the religious folk of Iraq wont be able to go to Mosque anymore either. It was also stated that cars will no longer be allowed in the centre of Bagdhad. So all these people have a curfew at night and now during the day as well and to top it all off they cant even drive to work in downtown Badghad. It sounds like a PrisonPlanet to me.

Freedom, don't you just love it.

I can't see how "we" have improved things for the Iraqi people, in fact I think it has just got worse. First of all it was stated by the puppets in charge (Bush and his mate, Bliar) that Iraq had Weapons of Mass Destruction which they didn't, so the puppets quickly changed their mind and said "er, er we mean we have FREED the Iraqi people - hurrah!" but here we are, this far down the line and the people ARE NOT FUCKING FREE AT ALL! It has got worse for them, at least with Saddam they had a civilisation, now with him gone the place is fucked, people getting killed every single fucking day, the whole place is eating itself, worse still they have become one of the United States with the US sticking it's oar in in government matters on a daily basis over there. What else have these poor bastards got left, they are prisoners in their own homes now, bombs go off every day, they must be terrified and we also find out today that Iraq is heading towards a bloody civil war between Sunni's and Shi'ites so that must be just the icing on the already fucking disgusting cake.

What a fucked up mess this has become.

What would happen if this happened in England? How would you feel about, say another country, lets say erm, well lets just say Sweden came over and ousted our Prime Minister and started sending tanks and bombs to fuck up our country's infrastructure and they were saying that it's because we have some weapons that we actually DON'T have. So in the aftermath, say everyone to the North of the Thames started arguing with everyone to the South and before you know it people are blowing each other to pieces with car bombs and suicide bombers. Then curfews are installed and the military blow anything up with no excuse. How would YOU feel? How would YOU feel living in a warzone, people you know around you getting fucked up, no food, no prospects, no job, no home - how would you feel trying to raise your children and survive each and every day with that shit going on around you all the time?

It pisses me off that nobody gives a fuck about the people of Iraq. These fuckers at the Sun just write a 8cm x 8cm article on it with an "ah well who cares" attitude and nobody in England or anywhere else gives a shit. It's just appalling, truely appalling, I despair.

Ha!! Isn't that brilliant! I work in a big office building, has 5 floors, loads of people and the management (or whoever) who put this sign up not only used the ridiculous word "bogies" but actually took the time to laminate the notice as well!

There has been a lot of discussion of late about Iran and whether or not the Worlds only remaining super-power should stop them from opening Nuclear Powerplants to provide electricity to their people or not. The US seems to claim that they will use these powerplants to make nuclear weapons - how absurd?! the people only want energy to run their homes and provide electricity for all its many wonderful purposes.

Anyway, before we start firing nukes about the place and bring the planet into apocalypse, could you just read this short passage first...

Pointless New Years Txt

Well Happy New Year everyone, may I wish you and your families an awesome 2006 with lots of fruity goodness as always.

I noticed something again this year and this happens a lot so it seems but you know how people insist on sending "happy new year" text messages just before, just after or smack bang on midnight? Well it happened again this year loads of people did this and it brought the servers crashing to the ground once again. Why does this happen??

It was first noted in the news back on the millenium celebrations, the first moments of 2000 Vodafone, Orange, One2One (now T-Mobile) and 02 all fucked up as people sent texts and a record number were sent which caused the problems. Now five years later THE SAME problems occur - why have they not fixed this 5 years later? It's weird because people just accept this, but it is UNACCEPTABLE service as far as I am concerned and the phone companies are in breach of contract.

When you send a text it costs you between 1 and 15 pence and you expect for your pennies the text to arrive at the recipient within a few minutes. Well I went to bed last night at about 2am and woke up at about 7.30am to find 4 text messages had arrived. All of these 4 were sent between 23.58 and 00.47 so should have arrived when I was still up but didn't. I would then surmise that these 4 senders should be granted a refund as their texts were not received in a timely manner but I bet that doesnt happen.

Mobile phone companies rip you off at times like these. You are spending your money on texts that don't arrive or arrive late, and on big occassions such as the recent bombings in london and at New Years and so on, millions of texts go missing or don't arrive - it's just not on now is it.

Anyway thanks to those who did text me, but why the fuck do people bother sending happy new year texts anyway? It's all a bit pointless isn't it?

Thank The Tsunami

I'm all for small miracles. Here's something interesting for you...

As it was Boxing Day yesterday there was a lot of coverage about the 2004 Tsunami and the devastating effect it had on so many people but it was interesting to look at the then and now pictures. Take a look at this one below... it's a mosque near Banda Aceh (Sri Lanka) and it shows the before and after. Note the before shot shows sandy, dry terrain and the after shows an IMPROVEMENT to the terrain it's now lush and moist and things can now grow there thanks to the power of the ocean.

So despite all the horrendous deaths due to these monster waves, at least one badly affected area has come out better off, oh and the mosque survived too.

Before I go, did you know that the US government has been testing weather control and earthquake creating weapons that may have triggered the Tsunami as part of their test?

With the major stories of torture/rendition and spying on US citizens, one important revelation has slipped away virtually unnoticed - the fact that the Blair Government and the British Intelligence services had prior knowledge of the London bombings on July 7th of this year.
The London Times reported last weekend that MI5 and MI6 had specifically warned Tony Blair before the July 7 suicide bombings that Al-Qaeda was planning a “high priority” attack specifically aimed at the London underground system.

The source is a leaked four-page report by the Joint Intelligence Committee (JIC), signed off by the heads of MI5, MI6 and GCHQ, the government eavesdropping centre.

Furthermore, the intelligence services were aware of the "bombers" and had them under surveillance 18 months prior to the attack. The simply decided to "stop monitoring" them.

Is it any coincidence then that last week, Blair ruled out a public inquiry on the grounds that it would detract from the ongoing investigation. The Government is simply going to release a report telling us what happened. This action has been taken because as Blair knows, any independent inquiry would uncover the fact that the specific attack was expected, the suspects were known to British Intelligence and nothing was done to prevent it.

Of course an inquiry would also bring up everything else we have exhaustively documented over the past six months that provide proof positive that British Intelligence had a hand in the attacks with the motive of rallying the people behind draconian new terror laws, a motive that totally failed even though the attack succeeded.

If specific warnings were given why did the MI5 also DOWNGRADE the terror alert level for the first time in four years?

Is it a coincidence that drills were taking place in the exact same sites as the real bombings at exactly the same times? The Intel agencies had warnings of attacks in tube stations, and drills by Visor Consultants for "unnamed clients" were being run in tube stations.

The bombs were sophisticated military type explosives and were ON TIMERS (why would suicide bombers need timers?) Furthermore they were reported to have come from UNDER the trains.

The bombers themselves were acting strangely for people who expect to die, arguing over being short changed, popping into MacDonalds for a burger, buying return train tickets. People who knew them were subsequently afraid to talk because "MI5 would get them", some did say they would never had done such a thing that and the video of Mohammad Sidique Khan released to show a "confession" was some kind of fake.

Add to all this the fact that the suspected mastermind of the operation was working for MI6 and was allowed to come and go at his own leisure, in and out of the country, plus the revelations that Scotland Yard knew about both the 7/7 and 21/7 attacks before they happened. This isn't even all the evidence, yet it still adds up to a mountain of information that any real inquiry would uncover with ease.

I need a new Mountain Board...

I really need to get myself a new mountain board. Although we have had lots of fun together me and my Scrub Furnace Creek, it really is just TOOO heavy to get up in the air sufficiently enough so that I don't look like a lame fool.

It will be sad to part the ways with the Scrub, but surely there will be someone in eBay-land who will love and cherish it as I have. Or I guess I will keep it for old times sake and have a bash on it now and then - who knows?!

Anyway so I want a board... now what do I go for???

I thought a Ground Industries Flight-Lite would be good, like Xanders, but apparently these are a similar weight to the Furnace so there not much point getting one of these...

So how about the MBS range, these are pretty hard-core. I like the Comp16 apart from its MASSIVE price-tag. Also I noted that when I rode Scott's it was pretty scary as these boards are so lightweight it's as if there is nothing there!!

Perhaps I should look at the Core 16 or the Core 8. The Core16 is a good board if Tommo's is anything to go by and the new MBS ones have far better foot-straps than the previous model so I think this could be a go-er.

Also I noted that they are black which suits my dark-side. The Core8 is probably a bit too short and more of a youths board and I am a 28 year old (hehe) so it might be a bit too small/short or whatever. Also the Core8 only has skate trucks and I really want channels or matrixs because I love springs so much.

Boxing Day already?!

Hey it's only the 21st of December!!

What I am talking about is companies who are advertising that they are open on Boxing Day - Ridiculous. So lets just get this straight, Christmas now starts in September (as previously noted) and THE MINUTE that Christmas Day arrives (or sooner) companies start blatting us with Boxing Day Sales, hurry, hurry hurry buy this sofa on Boxing Day, buy this, buy that - Jesusfuckingchrist enough already.

We also know that Easter begins on the 9th December.

Top companies who have done this as far as I have noticed is McDonalds who clearly state on their TV adverts "Most Restaurants open on Boxing Day". Also various shops in Ashford have got big signs by their doors that say "Open Boxing Day 09.00 - 17.00" including the main shopping mall. There used to be a time where over Christmas, most companies and shops would shut down for a few days, but not anymore. It's consumer heaven 24/7 these days and I bet your ass that most companies would open Christmas Day if they could get away with it.

The point of Christmas, as I believe is for families to come together to SPEND QUALITY TIME with one another and for everyone to have a few days off together but this just isn't the case anymore, as soon as the clock ticks over to 00.01 on Christmas Day the TV advert blatt-fest begins, it's almost as if Christmas is over before it has even begun. Why cant we just shut down? Take Christmas Day, Boxing Day and the 27th off. No shops open, nothing. MAKE all these chavs who HAVE to go shopping on Christmas Day actually spend time with their families instead which they should be doing instead of traipsing round all the shitty shops again. Didn't everyone have enough bloody shopping to do before Christmas?? Why ON EARTH would you want to go shopping on Boxing Day? It's beyond me.

I will certainly be hanging out with the folks for the whole period. I wont be going to any sodding shops on Boxing Day. I will be chilling, playing with my baby Son, seeing my parents and enjoying a few vinos and some left-over turkey (in sandwich form). If more people did this, and taught their children that Christmas/Boxing day is not all about consumerism and buying shit that they don't need but is about family times together, perhaps the yobbo culture that is engulfing the UK might be addressed somoewhat.

Just a few thoughts on the consumer/capitalist shit hole state we are in...

Sorry about the lack of posts but I screwed up my hard drive the other day while attempting a format and re-install of windows. Ha! I knew it was fucked when I heard clicking noises during the format and then it all went wrong.

I had to buy a new hard-drive which cost me £53 but now I have double the capacity as it is 160Gb. It was pretty easy to install as well which suprised me, and it all works as does my new installation of windows xp.

God, how much does it suck when you have a fresh copy of Windows XP - I have so much to install!!

It is not often that I see a film so incredible that I want to get everyone to see it, but this film is truely magnificent and I URGE you to see it!!

OK so it's directed by Michael Bay, who most people quite correctly thinks is a tosser, but my God he has made a great film here. I don't want to spoil it for you but do go and see this, it raises some excellent morality issues about life and death and of course science, yet it is a fantastic thriller akin to Enemy of the State and the vibe of the film is not too dissimilar to The Matrix, but the story is significantly different.

In popcorn terms, think The Matrix combined with Enemy of the State with a sprinkling of future-tech thrillers like iRobot, Minority Report and dare I say it Demolition Man. Plus of course Scarlet Johansson is looking pretty sexy to boot.

It's not a future tech-thriller it's something else. Do check it out when you can and you will see what I am babbling about, a truely awesome film!!

I'm not being funny but these are supposed to come out around Easter, you know Easter Eggs? Something to do with that fictional character from the famous novel, "The Bible" I think his name was Jesus Christ or something.. anyway why the hell can I buy Easter eggs today when we haven't even got to Christmas yet??

This pisses me off, why cant we just do one thing at a time? It's Christmas now, being Advent and all that so what the hell is going on with the Easter Eggs being put out all over the place?

Ah this reminds me of something else, fireworks. Fireworks night is one night of the year and that's 5th November. Remember, Remember the 5th November. Easy to remember. Well last night at about 10pm some complete tosser living near me let off a load of fireworks - how come bonfire night stretches out from mid September - Mid December?? ITS SUPPOSED TO BE ONE NIGHT YOU FUCKING ASSHOLES!!!

A BIG Meet for KentATB - The Aftermath

Disappointed is the best way to describe how I feel about the disasterous "non-shoot" that we had this weekend. Although the turnout for the BBC video was excellent - We had 14 riders, the weather absolutely sucked and destroyed the area we had planned to film in.

Here are just some of the disasters that befell us:

1. It rained all night and all morning so our main track turned into a downhill stream.

2. It was a splodgy bog-fest so no speed could be attained so the runs sucked ass and we couldn't use the ramp

3. Our cameraman got his BMW stuck in the mud...

4. Prompting the land owner to do his nut - "Get orf my land!!"

5. By this time I was so pissed off I couldn't be arsed to even try to shoot anything.

Bollocks, utter bollocks - Saturday sucked ass big time.

What a mess.

So the plan is to reschedule this for another day and find somewhere where we can ride even if it has rained loads.

What a waste of time :o(

A BIG Meet for KentATB

...so Saturday will be the day of the shoot. I am working on a script for the film and it is doing my head in so I might just play it by ear and say what makes the most sense on the day.

If you don't know, I am making a short video for BBC's Video Nation about the sport that we all know and love, Mountain Boarding.

Getting boarders to turn up seemed easy enough I put out the call and have about 13 confirmed riders heading to the location of the shoot and when they arrive they will be filmed doing some crazy jumps, mass decents and some boarding fun and hilarity. The video will get professionally edited by the BBC and will most likely go on their website and if we are really lucky on the Telly as well. So we are doing our bit for the promotion of the sport in a fun positive way and hopefully we will inspire more people to take part in moutain boarding.

So things to remember:

Don't take it too seriously,
Be cool
Shoot what you want, shoot everything
Say some stuff that's cool about boarding
Worry not about the weather, the sun will be there
Worry not about wind, it will be a windless day
Enjoy being one of 13 boarders on the hill (or more!)

Advent Is Here.

So it's December the 1st, that makes it Advent. It is now ok to talk about Christmas, put Christmas decorations up and all the shops can now start putting on their festive TV adverts and they may also put up decorations in their shops.

BUT NO!

Most shops have had Christmas decorations up since October, my wife and I were stunned when we went to Tesco in September and saw stacks of Christmas "Fayre" - well excuse me!? Christmas is in December FFS!

Why cant we all follow the rules, why is there such a massive Christmas hype as early as September or October?

If I was the Prime Minister or something I would make it illegal to show anything on TV related to Christmas and make shops and town centres ONLY put up decorations and mention Christmas when it is finally Advent. So Advent is here, today is the first day and Christmas is here, but it has been ruined by the Corporate money machines hell bent on making us pay out huge sums of money for "essential" christmas presents for our relations, most of which will find itself on the bonfire come New Years Eve.

Christmas has been bastardised, it sucks now and I hate it and it starts far too early which makes people sick of it. The only hope I have is for my little baby Son, when he gets a couple of years older I hope to see Christmas again from a Child's eyes with the magic and wonder of Father Christmas and the wonderment of a house filled with joy and festive spirit. I WILL do everything I can to stop these money grabbing bastards from messing up my Son's Christmas with their incessant TV advertising and the ridiculous act of putting up decorations in shops in October. I think we all need to rise up now and put an end to Christmas starting in October. It's ridiculous.

Deck the Hell Hole with Bells and Holly

Had a boring day at work today, but the day started well though because I arrived to find my colleagues going on and on about putting up some Christmas decorations. So we did and they look totally shit! Ha!

This is our shit attempt at putting up some Christmas decorations, note the really classy lights and beautiful tinsel and hey, is that a Teddy-Bear hanging by the throat there?
This is the Christmas tree. It actually looks quite cool, note the fantastic use of hole-punch circles to make "snow". Ok you cant see it very well but it's there and looks pretty good. Who needs snow-spray eh?

So for my £100,000 per year I spent the day putting up shit christmas decorations and it looks shit. Well done AdZ.

Post Office Hell (In General)

I moved recently. Not to a new house that I am buying but a "half-way house" kind of deal, basically my Dad rents out houses and I managed to blag one rent-free during the house selling and buying process.

Anyway I need to do a mail redirection because quite frankly I cant be arsed to phone loads of call centres and get the stoopid numbskulls who answer the phone to change my bloody address. Hurrah for mail redirection! for a small fee* you can get all your mail redirected to your new address. Saves loads of hassle apparently. I hate the post office. I really do.

Anyway I got the forms whilst renewing my passport which was a total farce too (see below) and I had filled in the highly unnecessarily complicated form and had got my wife to sign it and collected all the relevant ID that was needed to facilitate the mail redirection. Everything was ready I thought as I slept soundly in my bed.

The following day, as it does "work" ensued and I decided to head to the post office during lunch. I only get 36 minutes for lunch (long story) so I HAVE to be fast if I want to do anything and normally as one does, I need to eat and that involves buying some food somewhere. I had my mind set on a sub of some sort probably a turkey/ham kind of deal with salad. Speed! lets go...

I head up to the post office stinking hellhole and just as I was about to go in the door an old lady cut in front of me. Normally I am a courteous fellow and open doors for people and adhere to "ladies first" rules. So this old lady is now in front of me down the narrow corridor to the queues and my legs want to go faster but my brain is telling me that this old lady needs to FUCKING MOVE IMMEDIATELY but no, I calmly proceeded into the main post office lobby to meet an absolutely GARGANTUAN queue of people bigger than I ever seen in my whole life - ARRRGGHHH.

I really couldn't justify the wait as my brain is saying FOOD FOOD FOOD FOOD FOOD so I left the place, to hell with them!! most of mail is a load of old shit anyway.

Fortunately I saw my sister in town as it was her day off so after a little moaning she agreed to queue up for me! result!

So I gave her all the crap and the required £30 and said "Cheers Gem!" and headed in to get my Sub. I sat in the park for ten minutes or so and read my book and stuffed my face and managed to get into work a few minutes earlier than usual. Nice one.

The moral of the story is don't go to post offices. But if you really have to, get your sister to go for you ;o)

Passport Hell...

Ridiculous.
I want to renew my passport, and what a fucking palaver that has turned into. I NEED a new fucking passport because I am going Snowboarding in France next year, but it is a really annoying process you have to go through. I have summarised the journey I have taken to get this done below...

1. [Day 1] Go to the post office and get the forms. This is all well and good but when you have to stand in a queue for 15 minutes just to get a form it takes the piss.

2. Read the form and the instructions, Jesus fucking christ - can it be any more complicated??

3. [Day 2] Form completed only for me to realise that I had put in the wrong postcode as I have recently moved. For fucks sake. Had to queue up again during my lunch break for another 15 minutes to get another poxy form.

4. SECOND form duly completed.

5. Locate my passport at home. This took 8 seconds and is the fastest step in the process, it was in my box file under "P" for passports. Easy.

6. [Day 3] I went to the Post Office once again to get a passport picture, I noted that this machine issued "Passport Approved" photos! Yay, so thats cool then. I paid my £3.50 - £3.50!!?! for my photos and it took a couple of minutes waiting to print out. Cool so that's done...

7. Wait in the queue for a cashier, the queue was out of the door today!! Annoying because I can only do this during my lunch break so I have to fucking queue up - it pisses me off so much, especially when I am hungry. Grrrrr.

8. Got to the cashier who asked me if I want to pay and "Extra £7 for Express Checking" so I said yes and she started looking at my form and pictures and then said, "oooh dearie me, the people at the passport office wont accept that photo...", "why not?" I gruffly replied, "i'm not wearing a hat, I'm not wearing sunglasses, I'm not smiling, i'm centralised in the shot, its a blank background - whats wrong with it? Apparently it is unacceptable because there is a slight (by this I mean TINY) reflection on my glasses - FOR FUCKS SAKE!!!!

The Cashier tells me (although I know it is technically impossible) that the Government, in particular the passport office uses the pictures to scan our retinas! How can that be true?! you cant scan someones retinas from a photograph, that's ridiculous. I have never heard such utter bollocks. So between the cashier and her supervisor they both deemed the "Passport Approved" picture unacceptable. FOR FUCKS SAKE!!!!

They said I could go to Klick photo-processing and they can "digitally remove" the reflection, what a joke.

"Gimme the fucking forms" was my last retort before storming out of the post office.

I paid the money and had the picture taken and waited ever more for the printer to spit out the pics.

10 Dammit, it's time to go back to work, ANOTHER day has gone by with no passport renewal.

11. [Day 4] Went back to the fucking shithole cunt-fucking Post office and stood in a fucking queue for another 15-20 minutes waiting for these cunts to get their fingers out of their fucking arses. I handed in my forms and the new photographs. "Do you want express checking?" yes please take another fucking £7 off me you money grabbing bastards. The bitch behind the counter started reading through the forms, "ooh I notice you have filled in the section for a lost or stolen passport - YOU will have to re-do the form" FOR FUCKS SAKE!!!

I told this woman about how much fucking hassle I have had and that I am NOT going to leave this counter until my application was submitted. I also told her I am not queuing up again and I am not filling in the form again. She asked me to move to one side and complete the form and I refused. I stood my ground, fuck them. In the end she agreed to re-do the form for me and she started filling it in. Yes! at fucking last.

Finally, she was done (took her about 3 minutes of speed-writing) and I got the final shock... "that will be £49.00 please" - £49 for a fucking passport renewal plus £7 for photos - FOR FUCKS SAKE thats £56!!!

So I paid and it's all done now, I just have to wait THREE WEEKS for my new passport.
What a nightmare.

Brain Bubbling BBC

My brain is bubbling over with excitement about a forthcoming opportunity to get Mountain Boarding out there to the masses. I thought it would be really cool to make a documentary about mountain boarding and the commeraderie and fellowship around it. A few days later I found out from a friend that the BBC actively encourages this at www.bbc.co.uk/videonation and you can make short films about anything and they show it on the telly and on the web.

So I sent off a mail and got a call from them on Tuesday. The guy [Hamish] said it was a really cool idea and he agreed that I can make a video about mountain boarding and they will show it on the video nation slot on the BBC channels and also on BBC Online - Awesome!
So this means that me and my crew of crazy boarder dudes are gonna be on the TELLY!! The BBC are lending me a broadcast-quality professional film camera to use and are going to show me how to use it. Then I just have to shoot footage and send it back to them and they will edit it into a short documentary piece. What is cool is that although I wont be editing the footage myself, I retain full director control of it, it wont be shown until I am happy with the final cut. How truely awesome.

So the shooting day has been scheduled for Saturday December 3rd 2005 at one of the KentATB boarding spots. I am going to try and get as many boarders over to wherever we decide as possible so we can have some mass decents and trains down the run to make some awesome footage for the doc. Hopefully it will be a good clear day and hopefully all the boarders will perform well.

I have just got to decide what the narrative should be and have myself recorded out in a field somewhere saying stuff about boarding. This is the brain meltdown part of this blog, how do I get out everything that I want to say plus loads of awesome footage in a short 3 minute clip??
Any comments or ideas appreciated! I will keep planning it and I will let you know when this is going to be broadcast and you can check it out. Pretty exciting stuff, I feel a job at the BBC beckons!!

The BIG Snowboarding trip next year!!

I know I am going snowboarding for the first time next year because I was in TK Max the other day looking at Snowboarding Jackets. I cant believe I got all the gear I need for £80, I was expecting it to cost loads more, but no, a quid or so over £80 for everything I need. Hahahaarrr.

So I have a really cool black jacket with Red piping in places, nice and cosy with a warm inner. It's also got a detachable lined hood that will keep me snug in the snowstorms. I want there to be a snowstorm when I am there so I can use my new jacket to the MAX! I also got Dark Blue trousers or "Salloupettes" as they are called, these are nice and warm and totally waterproof too. The final item on the shopping list was the gloves, lush fleecy inner gloves with a water REPELLENT (not just waterproof!!) outer shell that's detachable. Well cool so nice warm and dry hands for me.

So I am well chuffed with that lot and looking forward to bombing down some hills. I have no idea what to expect as I have only ever had one lesson, but as a hardened mountain boarder, how hard can it be?? It will be so cool to be up in the mountains, with awesome views and spectacular scenery, it's gonna BRILLIANT!!

I'm excited thats for SURE!!

Good Boarding Day at Court-At-Street

I had a wicked little boarding session earlier today over at Court-At-Street. Its a wicked boarding location and one of the best that KentATB uses regularly. Nothing major here just a sheep field with a steep run in and some cliff type sections to get you speeding on your way and then undulating terrain all the way to the bottom. We have got a £20 Argos ramp which I bought ages ago so we set that up and started to bomb down and do jumps off it. Tommo was getting some sweet methods off this piddly ramp, Al was doing some sweet shiftys and I even managed a few grabs as well. It was loads of fun getting down in the muddy shite.

Here are some pics we took. I shot a whole load of footage for a forthcoming KentATB video that I am making, but we took these pics too...

We were getting incredible airs off the ramp and were landing a good few metres away from it, it's suprising as the ramp is so small but the run-in is so fast so you just fly off this baby...

All in all we had a great time today but alas darkness quickly consumed us so we headed back to Tom N Al's place for a nice cuppa. A wicked days boarding!

Metal Gear Solid 3 - Criminally Overlooked

I just gotta post something about Metal Gear Solid 3 on Playstation, man this game seriously kicks some ass! I have just been playing it, I had to shoot down a beehive and it landed on this guy's head and he ran off screaming! He was so scared he ran into two other guards and then they all ran off with bees a buzzing, brilliant!

This game is the definite stealth game, surpassing all of them, Splinter Cell, Tenchu et al. Tenchu was cool and I enjoyed Splinter Cell too but Metal Gear is something else, totally brilliant cinematography and utterly intense moments as you lurk in the shadows ready to strike.

Just earlier I had to infiltrate this base, sneaking around in the grass and trees and bushes around it. There were guards everywhere but I managed to pick them off with my tranquilizer gun and put them to sleep it was cool, hiding and crawling along, the pace of this game is something else. I took so long quietly despatching each of them only for the first guard to wake up and sound the alarm - All HELL broke loose as more guards came for me. I was fist fighting and trying to run as they battered and shot the crap out me, I was limping by the time I had escaped but they were still on my case. I finally was killed by one of the smug bastards in a hail of bullets but what an adventure and what a rush, the adrenaline was going just trying to sneak and kill them all but when the alarm sounded I almost jumped out of my skin! Talk about rabbit in the headlights!

So yes, indeed this is a criminally overlooked piece of gaming genius and I urge you to go and buy it. I noted that it is in Blockbuster Video on pre-owned for only £12.99 or £17.99 brand new at Play.com so there ya go, no excuses. Who has played this? No one I know, why is that? This game is wicked!!

I will try the base mission again tomorrow, this game is really great. Just thought I would share that with you all.

Moving to the Country

Following our previous problems when trying to move out of the SHIT town of Ashford into some rural countryside, my wife and I have found the perfect house out in the village of Pluckley - and the sellers accepted our offer too - it was £5000 less than the asking price! Yay!

Pluckley is cool it is very out there, remote and enjoys having the title "the most haunted village in England" great. Wooo spooky!

Anyway here is my house, this morning it was up for sale at £184,995 and is now sold to me and my wife for £180,000 - that boys and girls is a bargain!

It's really nice too, has a brand new kitchen with an Aga (posh village style oven) and a conventional oven. We have a utility room for washing machines and all that (I've never had a "utility room" before). A good size living room with an open fire and the third (rather large) bedroom makes up the ground floor. I am going to use the ground floor bedroom as my study so that will become KentATB HQ and be somewhere for my PC and Star Wars collection.

Upstairs we have a reasonable size bathroom with shower and the master bedroom and my Son's bedroom and access to a boarded out loft.

Outside the drive is MASSIVE can fit about 4-6 cars on there as you can see in the picture and the rear garden is pretty big too with a huge shed at the bottom.

I am really excited about living here and I am so pleased and amazed that they accepted our offer so its full speed ahead to get moved in.

Can everyone keep their fingers crossed for me as the last "perfect" house we tried to buy fell through due to structual problems so hopefully this is a good 'un.

Also worthy of note is the fact that there is a pub diagonally opposite the house and it is currently being refurbished. Might be worth a look for a couple of coronas :o)

Man, colds suck - I have had a blocked up nose all day so decided to use some Sudafed to blast the blockage of snot out of my nose. This stuff is amazing, how can a mixture of Xylometazoline hydrochloride, benzalkonium chloride, disodium edetate, sodium dihydrogren phosphate, sodium monohydrogen phosphate, sodium chloride, sorbitol and purified water clear your nose in 15 seconds!?
Amazing! From blocked to completely clear in 15 seconds!!

In this post I am going to big up the KentATB...

We have got a WICKED mountain Boarding site over at http://www.kentatb.co.uk/ for Mountain Boarders in Kent and the South East [of England]. There is loads going on over there too, we have got a massive forum with 76 members (as of now) loads of discussion threads and interesting stuff relating to Mountain Boarding.

I am making some new areas of the site to do with boards and pads at the moment and everyone in the forum is sending me their comments etc - it's coming along quite well too.
What else, ah yeah there is a really cool locations map of some of the places we board in Kent, there is an entire smorgasbord of pictures and 9 (NINE!!) free videos to download of us all in action, worth particular note is the Bails I & II videos - these have had loads of downloading so far and are proving really popular.

What pisses me off about the whole community vibe is that we have a LOAD of members who just wont post anything on the site so I am going to name and shame them now...
